Essential oils are a great tool alongside yoga, mindfulness, a nutrient-dense diet and sleep to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Incorporating the oils into you and your kid’s daily routine can be beneficial on so many levels.
When kids feel out of control we can empower them with their own tool kit of oils for mood management throughout the day with one or more 10ml roller-ball bottles in their pocket to help them when they feel overwhelmed or when they need that extra support to focus.
TOP 5 oils for kids
- LEMON – the oil of focus – great for kids with dyslexia or ADHD.
- LAVENDER – the oil of communication and calm – use for a restful nights sleep, anxiety, also can be used on cuts, bruises and burns.
- PEPPERMINT – invigorating it helps with memory cognition and its good for headaches.
- ON-GUARD – blend for daily immune support and to protect against environmental threats.
- DIGESTZEN – blend for occasional upset tummy.
You and your kids can also make your own yummy oil blends it’s a creative and fun process. There are so many uses for the oils you can also use them to clean your home reducing your toxic load.
My partner is a teacher and he diffuses in the classroom, which is a great way to receive the oils transdermally in a steady way, he likes to use a blend called Serenity with lavender and vetiver he says it really helps keep things calm. He has a USB diffuser on his laptop and one you can plug into the wall.
How can we use Essential Oils?
- Internally (only internally if they are doTERRA)
Remember for children we use high dilutions with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut for example, kids only need a small amount.
What Essential Oils to use?
Finding a brand you can trust and use safely is key that’s why we suggest doTERRA, third party tested, FDA approved real plant based potent medicines!
If your kids are older they can take a travel pack to school!
