Mini Me Yoga, founded by Kate-Bartram Brown, is all about self-expression through the vehicle of kids yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and positive thinking techniques. When we are doing what we love every day we gravitate towards being creative! This week we have an outstanding opportunity for all those up to 25 years old who dream about, or have experience with, creating a short film! Below is more detailed information from A Sense Of… :

A Sense Of…’ is a free, global, film and animation competition for children and young people aged up to 25. Entrants are encouraged to create new films and animations around this year’s theme ‘A Sense Of Hope’. They have until Friday 28th April to develop, shoot, and edit an original 90-second short from scratch. This exciting competition is run by award winning video production company EFD Ltd. and supported by platinum sponsor Creative England who are dedicated to the growth of the creative industries, and category sponsor Spotlight (for Best Actor and Best Actress), the UK’s leading casting resource. The competition originally began in 2014 as a pilot to gauge interest and was so well received that EFD Ltd. now run it annually, making it bigger and better each year. 2017 is the first year any young person can enter regardless of where they live. Five new award categories have been added, which means there are now 15 categories in total.

These awards will recognise both creative and technical achievements and are:

  • Best Film
  • Best Animation
  • Best Nonfiction
  • Best Idea
  • Best Story
  • Best Look
  • Best Sound
  • Best Production Design
  • Best Costume
  • Best Hair and Makeup
  • Best Edit
  • Best Original Music
  • Best Actress
  • Best Actor
  • Best Cast

There are three age groupings:

  • Primary (up to 11)
  • Secondary (11-18)
  • 18-25

Which means a total of 45 awards are up for grabs.

Film and TV industry professionals will judge the entries, including Academy Award winning action director and stuntman Vic Armstrong, animation supervisor Peta Bayley from MPC (The Jungle Book, Guardians of the Galaxy), TV presenter Mark Horton, music composer Heather Fenoughty, and casting director Jane Anderson.

Results will be announced on Monday 3rd July, and entrants will receive Winner, Finalist or I Took Part in digital award certificates and have their productions premiered online.
